Solar Electric (Photovoltaics and Solar Concentrators)
Photovoltaic (PV) systems use semiconductor materials to convert sunlight directly to electricity. PV systems can be configured in many different ways, including panels, flexible sheets, or even as roofing shingles. They can be fixed in place, allowed to track the movement of the sun, or put into a mobile power generation system. They work anywhere there is direct or indirect sunlight and produce no noise or pollution.
Concentrating solar power (CSP) systems use reflective materials that concentrate the sun's heat energy to drive a generator that produces electricity. CSP's relatively low cost and ability to deliver power during periods of peak demand-when and where we need it-mean that CSP can be a major contributor to the nation's future needs for distributed sources of energy.
We provide "plug and play" systems to meet a variety of needs including electricity for peak shaving or to offset high electric rates, remote power needs such as street lighting in urban areas and water pumping on farms, portable power needs for example in responding to disasters, and back-up power for critical systems for first responders, data centers and telecommunications.
